The Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic Board of Trustees has announced the resignation of President David B. Koch, D.C., effective with the close of the Summer 2000 quarter, September 23, 2000. Dr. Koch will embark on a one-year sabbatical during which he plans to complete the writing of a chiropractic philosophy textbook and also will be available to the college as a consultant. He will return to the college in October 2001 as a full-time member of the faculty. Dr. Koch has served Sherman College for many years as a faculty member, administrator and, since 1997, as the college's second president. "The Board of Trustees and the entire college community sincerely appreciate the many contributions Dr. Koch has made to the progress of Sherman College, and look forward to continuing to benefit from his experience in the classroom," says Robert G. Berkowitz, chair of the Board of Trustees. Brian J. McAulay, D.C., Ph.D., executive vice president and provost, has been named interim president. "Dr. McAulay brings a sophisticated understanding of straight chiropractic philosophy, strong management expertise and an unwavering commitment to the progress of Sherman College to this role," Berkowitz continues. A practicing chiropractor from 1985 to 1998, Dr. McAulay has also held a number of instructional and administrative positions. "I am honored to serve Sherman College and the chiropractic profession in this key leadership position. We have a strong administrative team in place," McAulay explains, "an ambitious agenda for growth and progress, and an outstanding faculty dedicated to providing the highest quality straight chiropractic education to our students. Sherman College has a bright future ahead, and I am honored to have the opportunity to continue our progress during this period." The Board of Trustees will conduct a national search before announcing a permanent presidential appointment. For additional information write to: Sherman College, P.O.
