Nourish the Body with Food Enzymes + Identify and Reduce Stress = Health
Keith Giaquinto
In my practice, I see many patients who have chronic unresolved health challenges. These people have been to multiple doctors or specialists with little or no improvement with their health. The common denominator with these types of cases is the same; the primary source of stress has not been identified. If it hasn't been located, you can't support your patients in minimizing it, therefore their body doesn't have the ability to heal. It is that simple.
Human physiology works in a predictable manner, provided that you know what you are looking for. My mentor, Dr. Howard F. Loomis, Jr., says that the body is a road map. The art of healing comes in learning to read the body and interpret the findings, but it is all there right in front of you.
You only need to become an expert of finding one condition in these patients—stress. Dr. Hans Selye, known as the "father of stress," points this out in his book, The Stress of Life.
I am going to take Selye's work, Loomis's work, chiropractic, and my 14 years of clinical practice and break it down for you.
Selye states that stress is only one condition that causes all symptoms and health challenges. The interesting part of this is that stress comes in three forms: mechanical, emotional, and nutritional.
• Mechanical stress includes subluxations, poor posture, and musculoskeletal injuries.
• Emotional stress includes fear, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, financial problems, etc.
• Nutritional stress includes a poor diet and the body's inability to digest, absorb, utilize, and eliminate properly.
Surprisingly, the body responds in much the same manner regardless of the cause—it needs more energy! When the body is under stress, it requires more nutritional support. Digestion and absorp-

tion become weak. This can lead to a nutritionally deficient body, bowel toxicity, and small intestinal bacteria overgrowth. The result is involuntary muscle contraction in the spine and perpetual subluxations. Clinically, with only a mechanical approach to a condition, a patient can only hold an adjustment for a few hours, a couple of days, or a week at best. Then the symptoms come back in the exact same spot with the same intensity regardless of the amount of stretching and postural strengthening exercises they do.

Without finding and removing or reducing the primary source of stress, your patient's body burns through nutrition like a forest fire with a hundredmile-an-hour tailwind. They literally cannot consume enough food to combat this stress. This is why, in order to begin to heal, we need to identify the stress and manage it better. Sometimes it is hard to eliminate the stress completely, and I understand that. Loomis says, "I am not telling you that you can't listen to rock and roll, but let's turn down the volume."
Identifying the primary source of stress, minimizing it as much as possible, and supporting normal
function is key. A mechanical approach with chiropractic will only get you so far with many patients in your practice. Adding the nutritional support with food enzyme nutrition to strengthen your patient's digestive and immune systems, and getting the nutrition past an incompetent digestive system is key. In my practice, some patients eat a very clean diet and exercise regularly, but they still have health challenges because their bodies can't properly digest, absorb, utilize, and eliminate the waste. Food enzyme nutrition can help bringtheir bodies back into balance. Let's face it, with our tainted food supply in the twenty-first century, I honestly don't know how I would be as successful in practice without food enzyme support.
