Chiropractic Advanced-Practice Injectable-Nutrient Procedures Under Major Attack in Oklahoma

NEWS

CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION OF OKLAHOMA

OKLAHOMA - Oklahoma’s broad scope of practice is currently under attack, and we could use the help of other concerned chiropractors around the country.

Since 1906, Oklahoma chiropractors have enjoyed one of the broadest scope of practices in the country, which has even included obstetrics. Yes, many chiropractors have delivered thousands of babies in the last century.

Since 1981, chiropractors who have passed a postgraduate certification program could perform injectable-nutrient procedures. Oklahoma state law title 59 section 161.12 B7 and OAC 140:1-1-2 provides that a chiropractic physician may possess, administer, or prescribe vitamins, minerals, and nutritional supplements by oral or injectable procedures.

Injectable-certified chiropractors have successfully helped countless patients with very complicated health issues. They have safely performed millions of injectable procedures, including, but not limited to, intravenous nutrient therapy, intramuscular and subcutaneous nutrient therapy, trigger point injections, prolotherapy, and prolozone regenerative injection therapies.

Oklahoma chiropractors have been pioneers of these amazing, natural, nutrient-injectable procedures for over 40 years. Because of the recent national popularity of these procedures, the ability of Oklahoma chiropractors to continue performing these safe and effective procedures is under major attack.

When they try to restrict or reduce a longstanding broad scope of practice in any state, it will eventually have implications nationwide. So, if you are a concerned Oklahoma chiropractor, a chiropractor licensed in another state alarmed by any scope-of-practice restrictions, or a chiropractor who would like to someday perform these advanced-practice injectable procedures in your state, please join the fight.
