"Ridiculous Senate Proposal" in California Outrages CA Chiropractors

(Re: Volume 25, Issue 3, Page 64) We're out here in California and just received your journal with the [Chiropractic Around the World] article regarding the ridiculous senate proposal that is being considered [in this state], which could have many insurance trickle-down effects nationally. You incorrectly stated that the proposal for limited chiropractic visits in work comp would be fifteen visits per year. The "arbitrary" number being proposed is fifteen visits per claim (including even future med, apparently). Fifteen per year would be one thing, but per claim is egregiously offensive and in error for patients who have tried numerous other approaches and found chiropractic to be the most efficacious. Besides the inability to substantiate the arbitrary number fifteen, the study of increased costs that was conducted is a proprietary study and is not open to objective review for standards of analysis, data interpretation etc. Just F.Y.I. (Thanks for the great journal.) (Prefer to withhold names, as we do not know your reprint policies.) Editor's Note: For the latest developments on this proposal, see Chiropractic Around the World, page 63. If you were mad earlier... well....
