In this issue... I t's our annual Nutrition issue! Since all of us here at TAC take our supplements religiously, this is definitely one of our favorite issues of the year! Of course after trying different supplements over the years, we know what a guessing game it can be if you're not trained in detecting nutritional deficiencies (like us). So, this year, we've compiled a multiple interview beginning on page 26 with some experts on nutrition and supplementation to take some of the guesswork out of detecting nutritional deficiencies. Drs. Frank King, Brice Vickery, and Paul Yanick present detailed information about their respective nutrition techniques and how you can apply them in your own clinics. Also to add another perspective to this piece, we're including nutrition manufacturer Daryl DeLuca's comments on what to look for before buying your supplements to make sure you're offering your clients the best quality vitamins and more importantly to ensure that your patients are getting on the inside of the bottle what the labels state on the outside. Included in this section, each of our interviewees refers to his own specific products and brand names, which we usually don't allow, but for the sake of education, and this being a "nutrition issue" I think you'll appreciate the product-specifics in this case. And, speaking of name brand products, you'll find the Top Selling Nutritional Supplements from the chiropractic profession's most respected nutrition companies featured in this issue on pages 10-12. We asked all the nutrition companies to tell us what products they sell the most of to chiropractors and here's what we got! Be sure to check it out! Among the other great nutrition articles you'll want to check out is Dr. Robert Lupo's "Nutrition, For a Healthier Practice" on page 24. Also, a long-term favorite author among our readers, Dr. Howard Loomis shares his tips to help you counsel your patients who are looking to get pregnant, in this first of a three part article on pregnancy (see page 36). Finally, our nutrition columnist, Dr. David Seaman, gives you some "cause" and "effect" advice to help prevent the growing cases of "Syndrome X" among your patients. The cover story this issue features our Million Dollar Chiropractic interviewee, Dr. George Michalopoulos, who practices in Addison, IL. This National College of Chiropractic Alumni walks us through his successful multidisciplinary and physical therapy center, beginning on page 18. Continuing with the discussion on stroke and chiropractic, we have two articles addressing the topic in this issue. First, on page 44, Dr. Daniel P. Dock addresses his concerns with the required VBI Test. And then on page 50, Dr. Allan Austin's "Advanced Method for Treating Stroke" takes Dr. Dock's information a step further with treatment methods and recommendations for how your stroke patients can BENEFIT from chiropractic. Finally, I want to be sure you don't miss our great practice management articles in this issue! Begin with Dr. Mark Sanna's "Practice Management Tips", on page 8; move to Dr. Maurice Pisciottano's "Generate a Positive First Impression", on page 16, and then to "How Much Staff Do You Need" by Eric Kaplan on page 48. And to wrap up your practice management planning, you'll want to look up our new Upcoming Seminars on page 61, which highlights the biggest seminars coming up in the next two months. Check it out and, as always, be sure to tell us what you think! Jaclyn Busch Touzard Jaclynftf'amchiropractor.com Keep up the great work! For chiropractic, ]
