IN THIS ISSUE.... TECHNIQUES ARE THE FOCUS THIS MONTH, SO LET'S TAKE a look at what you've got to look forward to in this issue! First, as an aid to your current techniques, Dr. Scott Walker of the Neuro-emotional Technique (known as NET) explains how "Your Present Technique Works Better than You Think it Does," in his article beginning on page 22. Dr. Walker's revolutionary work shows how you can uncover whether your patients' recurring subluxations are due to an emotional component...and, if so, how you can correct them once and for all! With up to 20 years in existence, and an accumulation of research to verify its efficacy, NET just may be the solution for you and your patients! Find out and tell us what you think. Next, starting on page 26, you'll find some very specific techniques and concepts that you can implement right away, starting with the "Sacral Cup: Treating the Malposition of Sacral Segments," by Dr. Charles Blum of the Sacro Occipital Technique Organization. Then, Dr. Jay Kennedy shares with you his experiences utilizing a new technique to get your patients out of pain immediately with the Active Therapeutic Movement (ATM) Therapy on page 30. This treatment actually works with the patient moving through the range of motion in which his/her pain is exacerbated, in order to make the correction. After that, on page 36, Dr. Tedd Koren addresses new perspectives on treatment for disturbing infant/toddler behavior such as head banging, tantrums, and thumb sucking which may be due to subluxations of the cranial bones. Finally, you can take a close look at the increasingly popular ProAdjuster technique by Dr. Maurice Pisciottano and, specifically, the Piezoelectric Sensor that their adjusting units utilize to determine the presence (or absence) of subluxations in order to get the desired results. Now, on to some major news in this issue! There's a motion (once again) to unite the ACA and ICA associations. This time COCSA has officially passed a motion mandating that the two largest chiropractic associations merge into one by the year 2010. While this is certainly not the first time we've gotten our hopes up about the great potential of having one unified national association representing chiropractic, this could be the last time—if we all pull together to make it happen! Look for details on page 20 and take action today to get involved! We'll be providing you ongoing updates in issues to come. And we're very happy that this issue is so universally unifying that we at The American Chiropractor are working together with other reputable publications in the chiropractic market such as Dynamic Chiropractic and Chiropractic Economics to keep you informed. We welcome your feedback and suggestions on this subject. On a final note, mark your calendars for CHIROPRACTIC '08, our 3rd annual Chiropractic International Symposium in the Republic of Panama, Feb. 22nd to 24th, 2008! Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Until then, keep up the great work! For chiropractic, Jaclyn Busch Touzard, BA President
