Advocacy for Medicare Parity Continues at ACA’s Engage 2022 and Virtual Day on the Hill

WHAT’S HOT

As support in Congress for the Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act (110 congressional cosponsors) continues to grow, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) plans two major advocacy offenses in the early months of 2022. The bill, which now features 109 congressional cosponsors, will be the focus of advocacy training at Engage 2022, ACA’s annual meeting, as well as the prime topic of discussion during ACA's Virtual Day on the Hill on Feb. 24.

Using a web-based meeting platform that enables doctors and students to advocate safely from their homes and offices, the Virtual Day on the Hill continues AC A’s annual tradition of bringing chiropractic voices to Capitol Hill to educate lawmakers about the clinical and economic benefits of chiropractic’s conservative care in the face of pressing public health issues such as chronic pain and the opioid crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the aging of the American population. Bringing the chiropractic story to life through such personal interactions with Members of Congress and their staff lays the groundwork for a continuing conversation throughout the year regarding the need for patients, and particularly seniors, to have access to safe, nondrug treatments to alleviate pain and restore function.
