Our health begins when our life begins, and our life begins at conception. Life as we know it is a miracle. Something so simple and yet so amazingly complex. Imagine, we start when an egg and a sperm come together, then a new life, a new energy form, is created. Simple cell division takes place for a short period, but soon the first very special system in our body develops. It’s called the neural streak because it will become the brain and the spinal cord. The first system to form is the brain and spinal cord because all the other systems will develop from that one. All development is controlled by the nervous system. That’s why it’s the first system.
The nervous system communicates with all parts of the body. The brain may simply be the bossiest part of the body. It tells virtually every other part of your body what to do and how to do it. Whether you’re aware of it or not — awake or asleep — your brain is at work. It works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, never taking any time off. The brain not only controls what you think and feel but also how you learn and remember. It also controls every function in your body, including the way you move your body.
The brain works through your conscious and subconscious minds. Consciously, the brain reacts to your request but also to things you might be less aware of, such as the beating of your heart and whether you feel sleepy or awake. Think of the brain as a central computer that controls all the functions of your body, and the nervous system is like a network that relays messages from it to different parts of the body. It does this via the spinal cord, which runs from the brain down through the back and contains threadlike nerves that branch out to every organ and body part.
The brain is gennane to cell health and reproduction. The brain carries the energy of life throughout the body. When a message comes into the brain from anywhere in the body, the brain tells the body how to react. For example, if you accidentally touch a hot stove, the nerves in your skin shoot a message of pain to your brain. The brain then sends a message back telling the muscles in your hand to pull away.
Luckily, that neurological relay race takes a lot less time than it just took to read about it. The brain works with amazing speed. We must keep these pathways free and clear because any obstructions in our spine will cause a deficiency and allow cells to malfunction. In essence, this article will focus on these two areas repeatedly. Now, because of the pandemic, we also must teach the public about prevention and the natural benefits of chiropractic. Vaccines are a $64 billion industry, so don’t expect it to go away.
Health, not disease, is the natural state of human existence, but forgetting this point is easy when we see all the disease around us. In today’s world, we live in fear of genns and disease, but diseases like cancer are on the rise. There was a time in my life when it was a rare exception to hear of someone having cancer. Now COVID or cancer seem common in most conversations, and almost everyone knows someone who has had or has COVID or cancer. We are not curing disease; we are now living in fear of genns and think genns alone are the cause. We must remember that our parents and generations before them made it here without so much fear.
Cytopathology
When cells malfunction, the body is no longer able to maintain homeostasis (balance) by regulating and repairing itself. This is the essence of disease — no matter what you call it or how it happens. Because only one disease exists, all we need to do is prevent the causes of that one disease. Healthy people do not get sick; only sick people become sick. Once you start to compromise health, a series of health events starts to follow.
It begins with one cell. Once a critical number of cells begin to malfunction, internal communications and self-regulation of the body’s organs and systems become debilitated and destabilized. So, if only one cell is sick and other cells become weakened, our internal communication system — our innate intelligence

— sends our symptoms. The greater number of cells that are compromised, the more the effects of the cells’ malfunction become compounded.
Before anyone can exhibit noticeable signs of disease, nonnal cell function has to be compromised significantly throughout the body. Vulnerability to infections, for example, is created by widespread cellular malfunction. An infection indicates that cellular malfunction has already weakened the immune system. One weakened cell — malfunctioning, affecting, and weakening other cells — is the cause of every disease. Thus, there is only one disease — cytopathology (sickness).
There are only two causes of disease:
1. Deficiency
2. Toxicity
There is only one cure:
The power that created the body heals the body.
A person cannot be sick unless a large number of cells malfunction. The first steps on the path to disease are taken when, for whatever reason, a single cell begins to malfunction, and then another cell and another. When the number grows large enough, we may begin to feel symptoms, perhaps experiencing pain here, discomfort there, or a lack of energy. By the time your cells and health have deteriorated into a diagnosable chronic disease, no cell in your body may be functioning optimally.
A simpler and more effective solution is to focus on the process — the one disease — and to ask what causes it. When you understand disease as a process, rather than a “thing” to be cut out or suppressed, then you see why surgery and drugs (virtually the only tools of the physician) are limited in what they can do. Deficiency and toxicity, regardless of their cause, increasingly compromise the functioning of cells, making a person steadily more vulnerable to developing a diagnosable disease.
By the time you contract a diagnosable disease (whether we’re talking about the common cold, allergies, cancer, or heart disease), you have probably been “sick” for a long time. You have suffered enough cellular damage from deficiency and toxicity that cells throughout your body are malfunctioning. By the time symptoms are produced, cellular malfunction has become widespread, cell-to-cell communication has been disrupted, and the systemic manifestations are the symptoms. Remember that disease does not just happen.
Why can one person get COVID, yet their spouse doesn’t? What is the cold or any type of flu? It is the body weakened by symptoms. Through symptoms, the body sends out an alarm screaming at you that you are not well. It literally tells you that your cells are tired and deficient. It forces you to bed, to rest, and to build newer healthy cells. Healthy people resist infections in the first place; otherwise, how could the husband be ill and the wife and children remain healthy? How could doctors and nurses walk around hospitals and not catch every contagious illness? Symptoms are alarms, and most of us pay little attention to these alarms.
We think that having a cold or the flu is normal, and that once the symptoms are gone, we are well again. That is not necessarily the case. The level of your health and immunity determines whether or not the presence of a microorganism results in an infection in your body or if your cells are healthy and strong enough to combat the antigen (anything foreign to the cell is an antigen). You are already sick; your cells have already become weakened and compromised before you come down with an infection.
Disease (cellular malfunction) comes first; active infections and chronic problems follow. To state that any person is a powerless victim of ill health or disease is a flawed theory. That way of looking at disease comes from living in a society that does not have an accurate understanding of disease or of what is required to create and maintain health. Our job and role are to teach health and prevention.
Remember, if your cells are healthy, you will be able to resist infections in the first place. We are so often busy living our hectic lives that we fail to pay attention to these alarms, symptoms, and warning signs. We think that having a cold or the flu is normal, and that once the symptoms are gone, we are well again. Not necessarily so. The level of your health and immunity determines whether or not the presence of a cellular malfunction is present. If your body is attacked by any toxin or microorganism, this may result in an infection. You were beginning to be sick before you came down with the infection.
A healthy doctor can see patients in the hospital and not get sick. Otherwise, every visitor and doctor exposed to any given “bug” would become sick, which is simply not the case. Strong cells lead to a strong immune system, and this article is about protecting your cells and helping them become healthier and stronger. The stronger the cells — the stronger and longer the telomeres of the cell, then the better we age.
The common theory is that we “catch” diseases, i.e., people become sick only after their body is already compromised. Disease, which we now know as cellular malfunction, comes first; active infections and chronic problems follow. Otherwise, when one child in the classroom gets sick, why doesn’t every student get sick too? The healthy ones stay healthy; the weakened ones get sick. People say things such as, “But they were bom with asthma and suffered from it as an infant,” or, “They were in the best of health, took great care, and then suddenly got cancer.” Although we hear these kinds of statements frequently, the theory is flawed.
The paradigm that a person is a powerless victim of disease to me is just not acceptable, and modem science proves it. Sometimes children are bom with the pathways to their organs blocked through spinal subluxation. Chiropractic care, when administered to children at a young age, can offset many of these ailments by allowing the body to heal itself by restoring the deficiency. An increase in chronic childhood disease is one reason parents seek alternative health care for kids today. Healthy people simply do not get sick. Healthy people have healthy cells. Make certain your cells obtain what they need to flourish, and they will stay healthy.
Choosing health means learning how to supply your cells with what they need while keeping them free from what they don’t need. Cells have great powers to take care of and repair themselves, to reproduce, and to stay healthy unless they are overwhelmed by toxins, poor diets, unhealthy habits, or environmental hazards. Your daily choices detennine whether your cells stay healthy or get sick. Make smart choices.
