ACC Establishes Chiropractic Residency Match Service – (the Chiro Match)
ARLINGTON, VA, Dec 2023 – The Board of Directors of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC) is pleased to announce it has established a chiropractic residency common application and match service. “We are delighted ACC has the exciting opportunity to work with the Department of Veterans Affairs’ and other chiropractic residency programs to provide a residency match service that will elevate and promote the development of residency training in our profession,” stated Dr. David Wickes, ACC Chair.
ACC is working with National Matching Services Inc. (NMS) to design and administer Chiro Match. Founded in 1985, after developing sophisticated matching algorithms and software for the placement of physicians into residencies in the United States, NMS administers online platforms to simplify and structure resident recruitment and selection for many professions in the U.S. including pharmacy, psychology, dentistry, optometry, and podiatry. It works closely with most universities that train healthcare professionals in the U.S., as well as hundreds of VA programs, hospitals, training sites, and thousands of applicants across the country every year. “We are confident the Chiro Match will serve the best interests of all chiropractic stakeholders and look forward to delivering this valuable service for you,” stated Jonah Peranson, Vice President, National Matching Services Inc.
The Chiro Match is a new Match program sponsored by and operating within ACC’s structure. NMS will design and administer the program with policy guidance and oversight from ACC’s Chiro Match Task Force comprised of three ACC board members, a Department of Veterans Affairs representative, and ACC’s Executive Director.
Chiropractic residency programs will register to participate in the Chiro Match beginning on December 4th, 2023. The Chiro Match will be open for applicant registration and applications from January 2 to January 24, 2024.
