Outraged Canadian Blows the Whistle on FDA "Greed"
November 1 2003

In the last few months, since the drug companies started complaining openly about losing profits due to the increase in low cost medications coming from Canada, the FDA has taken an extremely aggressive stance against the importation of Canadian medications. In fact, the FDA has sent out press releases with misleading information citing unfounded safety and quality issues, and the FDA initiated a lawsuit to shutdown RX Depot, a nationwide company that helps people complete the paperwork to get medications from licensed Canadian pharmacies. Many people question why the FDA, which oversees the pharmaceutical manufacturers, would work so hard to protect the drug companies' enormous prices and profits. Moreover, why would the FDA be willing to risk the quality of life for millions of America's seniors who can't afford to pay the high prices for their medications? The answer is clear. Since 1995, the FDA has received a significant portion of their budget from drug companies. The FDA change is simply greed and power. Dr. Mark B. McClellan, Dr. William K. Hubbard and the FDA have chosen to walk with the devil; and now, the master they have chosen to serve is no longer the citizens of the United States. The FDA has been bought, and millions of Americans will be forced to suffer needlessly because of it. Gary W.Lawson, Ph.D. Diamond Bar, CA
