Since the inception of chiropractic, there have been efforts orchestrated by legislative bodies to restrict the practice and access of patients to chiropractic. Today, chiropractic is in the headlines more than ever. The Congress of Chiropractic State Associations, or COCSA, has enabled
individual state asssociations the ability to defend against possible attacks and come together as a group, sharing lessons learned with each other. Read immediate past president of COCSA, and current New York Chiropractic Council President, John LaMonica, DC’s, comments on some of the recent hot topics, across the profession, on page 56.
Also this month, an interesting study was published in the latest edition of Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. It was conducted by several researchers at the National University of Health Sciences, and the results support the use of orthotics to improve function, and reduce back pain.
