Unremarkable shoulder pain typically experienced in someone’s 50s without any apparent injury may actually hold deeper emotional significance. In the intricate tapestry of our bodies, it serves as a reflection of the healing process at play.

The energetic statement of this type of shoulder pain can be associated with emotional wounds from the past. Whether stemming from a broken heart, betrayal by a loved one, or the hurt caused by a close friend or family member, these traumas leave a profound mark on our being. In its wisdom, the body attempts to heal from these emotional hurts, and the shoulder pain becomes a tangible manifestation of this healing journey.

Regrettably, the road to recoveiy can be challenging. It typically takes about a year to fully overcome such emotional trauma. In an unexpected twist, the pain may often shift to the other shoulder during healing. This phenomenon can be disheartening because the discomfort lingers for possibly another year.

In addition to regular visits to your clinic, introducing purposeful breathing techniques or meditation can help expedite the healing journey. Mindful breathwork as simple as a three-second inhale and three-second exhale for 36 repetitions in a slow, steady, even, and controlled tempo (such as waves rushing the beach before being pulled back into the ocean) is an easy way to support the physical and emotional healing process. For our overachievers, it is recommended to repeat the 36 repetitions multiple times daily.
