The Hidden Pandemic: Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Recent studies have revealed that people suffering from post-pandemic health issues such as Long COVID often experience liver abnormalities and dysfunction, which can have long-term consequences if not addressed. There is evidence that inflammation and oxidative stress, triggered by the COVID-19 virus, can lead to liver cell damage and impaired liver function.

The causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease are the common denominators of a hidden underlying pandemic, which creates susceptibility to the so-called contagious diseases and the chain reaction of type-two Diabetes and cardiovascular disease that follows in its wake.

The liver plays a crucial role in our overall health, including filtering toxins, producing bile, and metabolizing medications. When the liver is affected by Long COVID, it can lead to a variety of symptoms such as fatigue, jaundice, and elevated liver enzymes. Additionally, liver damage caused by Long COVID can increase the risk of developing complications like fatty liver disease.

Although the exact mechanism behind the liver damage caused by Long COVID is not yet fully understood, it is believed to be a result of the immune system's response to the COVID-19 infection. There is evidence that inflammation and oxidative stress, triggered by the COVID-19 virus, can lead to liver cell damage and impaired liver function.

Dr. Freddie Ulan is currently doing extensive research on this topic.  “This connection is important because the causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease are the common denominators of a hidden underlying pandemic, which creates the susceptibility to the so-called contagious diseases,” explains Dr. Ulan, founder of Nutrition Response Testing®. “These contagious diseases would have no place to land if it were not for the true pandemic of non-alcoholic fatty livers and the chain reaction of type-two Diabetes and cardiovascular disease that follows in its wake.”

These research findings will be released at the 2024 Ulan Nutritional Systems Spring Symposium: The Fatty Liver Summit. April 12 – 14 at the Hilton Carillon in St. Petersburg, FL.  Call (866) 418-4801 to register.
