THIS ARTICLE BY DR. JACK SCHATZ IS SHARED FROM THE ARCHHES OF THE CONCEPT-THERAPY INSTITUTE, appearing in their membership publication, “The Beamer”, in 1965. It was republished by the Concept-Therapy Institute in 2012 in the Best of the Beamer, Volume Three. The principles presented here are increasingly relevant in developing an understanding of chiropractic philosophy and the treatment offunctional disease as taught by D.D. Palmer and further developed by Dr. Thurman Fleet, DC, as taught in the original Zone Healing™Master Course, including Suggestive Therapy® at the Concept-Therapy Institute in San Antonio, Texas.

There is but one healing power; it is referred to as the “Father within,” the “Innate Intelligence,” or simply as “Nature,” or “God.” By whatever name it is referred to, there is still but one power. It expresses itself positively or negatively, constructively or destructively. It can be contacted, or perhaps it is more correct to say we are in contact with it every instant. Ignorant of this fact, we are more often than not contacting it in a negative, destructive manner, leaving the positive side of the power to express itself only by accident or haphazardly engaging it at best.

Every thought entertained is the device that engages the power, one way or the other. Since we do not entertain only our own thoughts, we are also, in our ignorance, receptive to the thoughts given to us by our associates, friends, or enemies. The thoughts given to us by others would be called “Suggestion.”

Hypnosis has proven that a thought held unbroken for a half-minute has risen in amplitude to a sufficient strength to engage the power. Suggestions then can be admittedly important in our life expression. Unfortunately, the world at

large is unaware of the potency of suggestion and is therefore guilty of using suggestion predominantly on the negative side. A doctor properly trained in the art of giving suggestions as taught in Dr. Thurman Fleet’s Suggestive Therapy® and the original Zone Healing™ Master Course can enhance one’s expression to an unlimited degree, depending upon their ability to conceive or understand. For we can only prove what we do understand and only to the degree that we understand.

A doctor understanding this principle has more of the power available to them for healing. A business person has more of the power available for expressing business, a teacher for teaching, a minister for preaching, a lawyer for law practice, and a salesperson for selling. In short, whoever you are, you come into a better relationship with the Power’s ability to express itself “on purpose.” The Power is always expressing itself, but predominantly on the negative side, because we are ignorant of the thoughts engaging it.

“Every thought entertained is the device that engages the power, one way or the other.”

What thoughts are you engaging in during the major portion of your conscious thought periods? Are they more of the time negative and destructive, or positive and constructive? Only you can answer for yourself

Are we to be the victims of life or the victors? We are assured by the scriptures of the world and by science that we are potential victors. Victory will be ours only as we better learn to engage thoughts, which direct the power to express the positive into our lives. The price of victory is eternal vigilance at the portal entry to thought, no matter the source, suggestion, or reason. Most

“The world today is sadly in need of the doctor who can not only apply their knowledge of the physical aspects of life, but also the mental and spiritual functions, for the physical aspect is but a reflection of the two aspects above it.

of us have mastered engaging the negative, destructive side of the power, and herein lies the clue to mastering the positive, constructive side. If we can, by dwelling on the negative as most of us have, master the Power’s expression by building into our lives that which we do not want, then assuredly we can engage the positive expression of the Power in the same fashion on the side of the victorious, abundant life.

Many may say these are just thoughts. But remember, thought is the device which engages the Power. The doctor who is unaware of this composite action of suggestion between the healer and the patient is lost in a world of materiality, which leads one to failure, opening themselves to the suggestions of salesmen with modalities, techniques, and other false answers. These offer temporary benefits to the doctor who is already at low ebb from their own wrong use of thought power, called reason.

The world today is sadly in need of the doctor who can not only apply their knowledge of the physical aspects of life, but also the mental and spiritual functions, for the physical aspect is but a reflection of the two aspects above it. The doctor of the future must work from the viewpoint of not only healing but also preventative measures, and to excel at this, one must understand the laws of suggestion. Concept-Therapy® teaches the laws of life and suggestion. Until one sees for themselves, nothing is proved. Why has the world waited so long for this knowledge? Well, why did the world wait so long for the automobile, the airplane, the television, radio, wireless, etc.? Because the world had to wait for the brain, which could conceive of these ideas, and as doctors, we haven’t seen anything like what is yet to come.

The Final Frontier will be discovered in the realm of consciousness — not space, nor viruses, nor anything else on the purely material level.
